4-H Chick Chain – Registration for the 2024 Chick Chain Opens In January, 2024
Youth must be in grades 4th through 12th and enrolled in 4-H in Meigs County in order to participate. The 4-H Chick Chain program is offered each year, with registration in January and February. 4-H’ers purchase 12 baby chicks with a deposit through 4-H and pick them up in the spring. In the fall, they bring 3 of their best hens to the Meigs County Fair to participate in a Chick Chain Auction and Show. Upon bringing their hens back, they will receive their original deposit back. The proceeds from the auction go to cover the cost of the pullets.
