4-H Camps

4-H Junior Camp. Grades 4th-6th:

June 3-7, 2024 at the Clyde Austin 4-H Center in Greeneville, TN.

Youth who have completed 4th, 5th or 6th grade in Meigs County can attend 4-H Junior Camp at the Clyde Austin 4-H Center in Greeneville, Tennessee. Activities include swimming (swim lessons available), canoeing, wildlife, archery, a shooting range, a low ropes course, lots of games, and fun at 4-H Junior Camp. The air-conditioned dining hall and lodging, along with home-cooked food makes this a great week in the mountains. Cost is $355, which includes transportation to and from camp. 6th grade students can consider attending 4-H Junior High Camp – see below for more information on junior high camp.

Junior High Camp. Grades 6th-8th:

July 8-12, 2024 in Greeneville, TN. Junior High Camp is held at Clyde Austin 4-H Center in Greeneville, TN. 6th – 8th grade students (must have completed 6th grade) can attend Junior High Adventure Camp.

Cost for 2024 Junior High Camp is $390. The emphasis is on individual development and group dynamics. Activities include canoeing down the Nolichucky River, geocaching, zipline at Bays Mountain, ropes course, hiking, fishing, outdoor cooking, and group activities. To register for junior high camp, complete the registration form found on the Camp brochure and mail or bring it to the UT/TSU Extension Meigs County Office, along with payment of camp fee (make checks payable to “University of Tennessee”) and a completed 600A form.

Electric Camp. Grades 6th-8th:

Held at UT Knoxville June 25-28, 2024. The registration deadline is May 27, 2024.  No refunds, additions/changes/substitutions can be made after the June 4, 2024 Cost for Electric Camp is $325, which includes bus, lodging, and meals. To register for Electric Camp, mail or bring a check for the registration fee (payable to “University of Tennessee”) to the UT/TSU Extension Meigs County Office (325 River Road, Decatur, TN 37322), along with a completed 600A . 4-H Electric Camp is for 6th, 7th and 8th graders (as of January 1, 2024). 4-H Electric Camp is a fun-filled, rewarding adventure in electricity. Campers explore the world of energy, electricity, energy conservation, electrical safety, and other basic sciences in “hands-on” learning activities. 4-H Target SMART Camp. Grades 5th-9th:

Held May 27-31, 2024 at Clyde York 4-H Center in Crossville. Target SMART camp is open to 5th through 9th graders as of January 1. Application deadline is May 6 (or until full – space is limited). Each camper will participate in rifle, archery, shotgun, and hunting/outdoor skills. Additional activities for campers include swimming, campfires, visits to the camp wildlife center, and crafts and games. Cost is $360, which includes lodging, meals, ammunition and targets, as well as other recreational activities. See the camp brochure for more information. Senior High All-Stars Camp. Grades 9th-12th:

May 31-June 2 at Crossville, TN. All 9th-12th grade youth can attend this camp! Registration deadline is April 28, 2023. The 4-H All Stars Camp will feature fun shops, networking, games, dancing, and service.  The cost of the weekend camp is $230, which includes lodging, meals, and a t-shirt.
